Friars Track Runners To Compete At European Athletics U23 Championship

Buckley, Flockhart, and Laadjel will be competing.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College track standouts Jane Buckley (Cork, Ireland), Shannon Flockhart (Longstanton, England), and Abdel Laadjel (Lucan, Ireland) will compete at the European Athletics U23 Championships from July 13-16 in Espoo, Finland.
Buckley will represent Ireland as she competes in the 5,000 meters on Thursday, July 13th. Jane's personal best of 15:41.68 which she ran at the NCAA First Round in May has her seeded 4th in the meet.
Flockhart will run the preliminaries of the 1,500 meters for Great Britain on Saturday, July 15th. The final is scheduled for Sunday, July 16th. Shannon's seed time of 4:10.78 has her ranked 5th in the meet.
Laadjel will represent Ireland in the 10,000 meters on Sunday, July 16th. His seed time of 29:12.50 was set when finishing 2nd in the event at the Big East Championships in May.
