AUSTIN, Texas – Providence College junior
Shannon Flockhart (Longstanton, England) and sophomore
Kimberley May (Auckland, New Zealand) ran the 1,500-meter semifinals tonight, June 8 at the NCAA Outdoor Track Championship at Mike A. Myers stadium in Austin, Texas.
Flockhart finished third in her heat in a time of 4:18.28. Flockhart's performance automatically qualifies her for the finals which will take place on Saturday, June 10 at 9:12 p.m. ET.
May ran a personal best of 4:13.14 to place ninth in her heat and 14
th overall, earning her second team All American.
Freshman
Jane Buckley (Cork, Ireland) will also compete Saturday, June 10 in the 5,000-meter finals at 10:55 p.m. (ET). She qualified at the NCAA's semifinal on May 27 by placing seventh in her heat in the 5,000 meters in a time of 15:41.68.
