Kimberley May Named BIG EAST Women’s Track Athlete Of The Week

May anchored the Friars’ First-Place Championship of America 4x1500 team at Penn Relays.

PROVIDENCE, R.I.– It was announced Tuesday, May 9 that Providence College sophomore Kimberley May (Auckland, New Zealand) was named BIG EAST Women's Track Athlete of the Week. May earned the honors after her performance at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa., April 27-29. 
 
May anchored the distance medley relay team with the second fastest split (4:33) in the 1600 meters. She also anchored the Friars in the Championship of America 4x1500-meter relay, running the fastest leg (4:11.9) and leading Providence to a first-place finish in a time of 17:11.35. The team's time marks a program record. 
 
UP NEXT
The Friars will compete at the BIG EAST Championship on May 12-13 in Villanova, Pa. at the Jumbo Elliott Track on Villanova University's campus.
