BOSTON, Mass.- The Providence College women's indoor track team competed in Boston, Mass. at the Boston University Valentine Invitational on Friday, Feb. 10. Four of the Friar women set personal records.
Lilly Tuck (Sunderland, Canada) and
Orla O'Connor (Waterford, Ireland) set personal records in the 3000-meters of 9:11.73 and 9:41.03, respectively. Freshman
Jane Buckley (Cork, Ireland) who is redshirting this indoor season won section 3 of the 3000-meters in 9:06.44 which was a 45 second personal best.
Halle Atkinson (Franklin, Mass.) ran a 2:10.27 in the 800-meters.
Shannon Flockhart (Longstanton, England) ran a 4:39.23 in the mile and
Kimberley May (Auckland, New Zealand) set a personal record in the event of 4:40.37.
In the 60-meter hurdles,
Nicole Borowiec (Morristown, N.J.) ran a 9.08 and
Charlotte Cousins (Madbury, N.H.) ran a personal record of 9.21.
Meg Hughes (Rochester, Mass.) led the Friars in the 400-meters with a time of 57.15. Following Hughes was Jill Fennerty (Franklin, Mass.) in 57.28 and
Niamh Gowing (Dublin, Ireland) in 57.98.
The Friars are back in action Saturday, Feb. 18 at the Brown University Invitational in Providence, R.I.
