VILLANOVA, PA.. - Providence College volleyball defeated Villanova (3-2) on Saturday, October 7 in Villanova, Pa. The Friars went 2-0 on the weekend winning both matches against Georgetown and Villanova in five-sets.

FIRST SET HIGHLIGHTS: Villanova won the first set, 25-15.
- The two teams went back-and-forth to start the set making the score 6-6.
- The Wildcats took a 15-11 lead in the middle of the set forcing a Friars timeout.Â
- Villanova went on a 10-4 run to close the set and win, 25-15.

SECOND SET HIGHLIGHTS: Providence won the second set, 26-24, to tie the match.Â
- The Friars got off to a 6-4 lead to start the set.
- Providence went on a 9-7 run to extend its lead to 15-11 in the middle of the set.
- Villanova tied the set,17-17, forcing a Providence timeout.Â
- The Friars scored three unanswered points to close the set and win, 26-24.
- Dupuis tallied seven kills for the Friars in the second set.

THIRD SET HIGHLIGHTS:Â The Wildcats won the third set, 25-23, to take the 2-1 edge in the match.
- Providence got off to a 6-4 lead in the third set.
- Villanova went on a 10-5 run to take the 14-11 lead.Â
- The Friars scored five unanswered points to take back the lead, 17-15.
- The Wildcats went on a 10-6 run to end the set and win, 25-23.

FOURTH SET HIGHLIGHTS:Â The Friars won the fourth set, 25-18, to force a fifth set.

- The Friars extended their lead to 12-6 forcing a Wildcats timeout.Â
- Providence held onto a comfortable lead the rest of the set winning, 25-18.
- Taylor tallied six kills in the fourth set.

FIFTH SET HIGHLIGHTS: The Friars won the fifth set, 15-7.
- The two teams went back-and forth to start the deciding set and were knotted at 5-5.
- The Friars scored four unanswered points to take a 9-5 lead and force a Wildcats timeout.

- The Friars had four service aces in the final set.
