PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College volleyball was defeated by Butler in straight sets on Friday, October 13 in Providence, R.I.

FIRST SET HIGHLIGHTS: Butler won set one, 25-21.
- Providence got off to a quick 7-5 lead to start the set.
- The Friars held onto their lead through the middle of the set making it 16-14.Â
- The Bulldogs went on a 5-2 run to tie the set at 19-19.
- Butler went on a 6-2 run to end the set and win, 25-21.

Shaliyah Rhoden (Rowlett, Texas),
Lyric Berry (Wylie, Texas) and
Kayla Grant (Rowlett, Texas) each registered three kills in the first set.

SECOND SET HIGHLIGHTS: The Bulldogs took set two, 25-20, for the 2-0 lead in the match.
- Butler started the second set with a 6-3 lead.
- The Bulldogs extended their lead to 9-4 forcing a Friars timeout.
- Butler controlled the lead for the remainder of the set winning, 25-20.

Jiji Lykins (Coral Springs, Fla.) and
Miller McDonald (Dallas, Texas) both tallied five digs in the second set.

THIRD SET HIGHLIGHTS:Â Butler won the third set, 25-23, to win the match.Â
- Providence took a 5-2 lead to start the set.
- The Bulldogs cut the score to 14-13 causing a Friars timeout.Â
- Butler took the lead late in the set to make it 21-20.
- The Bulldogs closed out the set winning, 25-23.
- McDonald recorded seven assists in the third set.
