PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College field hockey team will host a pair of games this weekend at Lennon Family Field in Providence, R.I. The Friars begin the weekend with a BIG EAST match-up against Temple on Friday, Oct. 6 at 3:00 p.m. Providence concludes the weekend with its annual Alumnae Day celebration and Pink Out Friartown game against non-conference foe Queens University on Sunday, Oct. 8 at 1:00 p.m.

SCOUTING PROVIDENCE COLLEGE (5-5, 0-3 BIG EAST):
• Providence enters the weekend with a 5-5 overall record, including a 5-2 mark at Lennon Family Field.
• Eleven players have scored at least one goal this season through 10 games, including six multi-goal scorers.

Lisa McNamara leads the Friars in scoring with 11 points on five goals and one assist. She has attempted 10 shots this season and have put seven of them on target. Two of her five goals have been from the stroke mark this season and is 2-3 overall this year in penalty-stroke opportunities.
• McNamara's five goals mark a single-season career high. She also has reached double figures in the scoring column for just the second time in her career (11 points). During the 2021 campaign, McNamara tallied a personal best of 12 points on two goals and eight assists.

Celia Preveza is second on the team in goals scored (three) and tied for second overall in points (seven).

Bella DelNegro,
Bo Martina,
Macie Pennisi and
Ally DeCoste have each scored two goals this season.
• DelNegro is tied for second on the team in scoring (seven points) and leads the Friars in assists (three).
• Fourteen players have scored at least one point for Providence, including five freshmen. Martina leads the freshmen class in scoring with six points on two goals and two assists.
• Defender Eleonore de Keyser was named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team. She missed her first two seasons with an injury and returned in 2022 to start all 17 games as a central defender. In 2023, she is the only member of the team to play every minute of every game (through 10 matches). She owns four points on one goal and two assists. De Keyser scored her first career goal against ODU on Sept. 29.

Asia Porter has played 594 minutes in the cage for Providence. She owns a 1.72 goals against average and a 0.702 save percentage.
• Providence was picked to finish fifth in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll.
• The Friars have added eight newcomers to the roster for the 2023 season. Five of those eight have seen time in the starting line-up.
• In May, the program announced its 2023 team captains:

SCOUTING TEMPLE (6-5, 1-2 BIG EAST):
• Temple enters the weekend with a 6-5 overall record, including a 1-2 mark in the BIG EAST Conference.
• Temple is 4-3 at home and have posted a 2-2 record on the road.
• The Owls are in the midst of a three-game winless streak, having dropped matches to Old Dominion (1-0), No. 9 Liberty (3-0) and Monmouth (1-0, OT).
• Temple's lone victory in BIG EAST play came against UConn on Sept. 15. The Owls recorded a 1-0 win at Howarth Field in Philadelphia, Pa.
• Tess Muller leads Temple in scoring with eight points on three goals and two assists. She is the lone multi-goal scorer on the roster.
• Seven other players have scored one goal for Temple this season through 11 games.
• Alize Maes is second on the team in scoring with five points on one goal and a team-best three assists.
• Veteran Molly Frey has played 667 minutes in goal for Temple and owns a 1.44 goals against average and a 0.698 save percentage. Two of her six victories this season have been shutouts.
• Temple has recorded 70 penalty corners this season, compared to 51 awarded to its opponents.
SCOUTING QUEENS (6-5, 1-2 BIG EAST):
• Queens University of Charlotte enters the weekend with an 0-11 mark.
• Queens is in the midst of its second season as a NCAA Division I field hockey program.
• Riley Iasiello leads the offense with three points on one goal and one assist.
• Karlee Alt and Caroline Powell have each scored one goal for the Royals.
• Grace Meinke (375 minutes) Manisha Desai (283 minutes) have split responsibilities in goal for Queens. Meinke owns a 7.04 goals against average and a 0.604 save percentage. Desai has compiled a 4.45 goals against average and a 0.708 save percentage.
WHAT'S NEXT:
• Providence will travel to Storrs, Conn. to BIG EAST foe Connecticut on Friday, Oct. 13 at 1:00 p.m. The Friars will return to Lennon Family Field on Sunday, Oct. 15 to host Lafayette for Senior Day. The game is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. and will be preceded by a ceremony to honor the program's graduating class.
