PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- On Wednesday, September 27th, the Providence College Athletic Department held its annual Men's Basketball Vision Cup presented by Santander in Newport, R.I. at Newport Country Club. The sold-out event raised more than $200,000 for Providence College Men's Basketball.  Providence College Athletics would like to thank Santander, the title sponsor for this event. Player gifts were sponsored by Nike and Prime Time Sports, Newport Country Club, Zero Restriction and Travis Matthews.  Guests were treated to breakfast provided by ServPro and dinner courtesy of Amica.

Following golf, there was a speaking program featuring remarks from Athletic Director, Steve Napolillo '98. Head Men's Basketball Coach, Kim English, gave insights about what fans can expect from this year's upcoming season.  Thanks to Amica's generous support, Devin Carter spoke to the golfers during the post-golf dinner about the excitement he has for this season and how the coaching staff has really prepared the team for this upcoming year.

"The Newport Vision Cup has been an incredible asset to our men's basketball program due to Santander Bank and the support of all our sponsors and golfers," Providence College Athletic Director Steve Napolillo said.  "The funds from the Vision Cup will go directly to support our men's basketball program as we continue to compete at the highest level."

"In a short period of time, I have met so many of the fans who make Providence College special," Providence College Head Men's Basketball Coach Kim English said. "I am so appreciative for the support that they give our program.  For me, the highlight was having our fans meet Devin Carter.  This gave them the chance to see up close how Devin is taking advantage of the incredible opportunities provided at Providence College while competing in the best basketball conference in the nation and receiving a first-class education."
