BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Providence College graduate students
AJ Ernst (Marblehead, Mass.) and
Angus White (New Plymouth, New Zealand) and sophomore
Liam Back (New Plymouth, New Zealand) all ran the First Round of the 1,500 meters NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Track East Preliminary competitions today (May 25) at Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind.
Ernst won his heat in a time of 3:48.34 and automatically qualified for 1,500 meter Quarterfinals, which will be run on Friday at 5:15 p.m. White ran a time of 3:45.17 and also qualified for Friday's Quarterfinals. Rounding out the 1,500 meters, Back ran his heat in a time of 3:47.36.

David McGlynn (Waterford, Ireland) competed in the 10,000 meters but was not able to finish the race as he was battling an illness.
The Friars will return to action on Thursday as sophomore Shannon Flockhart (Longstanton, England) and freshman Kimberley May (Auckland, New Zealand) will run the women's 1,500 meters (6:30 p.m.), junior Alex O'Neill (Ennis Ireland) will run the women's 800 meters (7:50 p.m.) and sophomore Laura Mooney (Cappincur, Ireland) will run the women's 10,000 meters.
