BOSTON, MASS. - The Providence College men's Track and Field team competed at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 12.
In the 3,000 meters
Ryan Gallagher (Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.) and
Pat Thygesen (Brisbane, Australia) won their sections in 8:08.26 and 8:19.67 respectively, both IC4A qualifying times.
Abdel Laadjel (Lucan, Ireland) [ 8:14.36],
David McGlynn(Waterford, Ire.) [8:19.16],
David Rosas (Chestnut Ridge, N.Y) [ 8:26.24] and
Shane Coffey (Naas, Ire.) [ 8:27.31] also ran IC4A qualifying times in their sections.
Brett Lehman (Lower Gwynedd, Pa.) and
Angus White (New Plymouth, New Zealand) also recorded personal bests on their performances. Lehman finished 32nd in the 400 meters in a time of 48.94 in a field of 196. In the 1,000 meters, White finished first in his seciton in 2:27.90, a IC4A qualifying time.
Ryan Jendzejec (Chappaqua, N.Y.) finished 27th overall in the 800 meter in 1:51.47, an IC4A qualifying time and a personal best.
For the second time in two weeks
Liam Back (New Plymouth, New Zealand) just missed cracking the four minute barrier, recording 4:00.44. Running unattached were freshmen
Michael Morgan (Sligo, Ire.) who ran 4:05.13 and Matt Lepine (Red Bank, N.J.) who ran 4:13.61, both personal bests.
Other Notable Performances:
Josh Lewin (West Chester, Pa.) finished 72nd in 1:54.61 in the 800 meter.
In the high jump, Chris Johns (Longmeadow, Mass.) finished 11th with 1.91m and
John Zygiel followed in 14th with a personal best of 1.86m.
