Tyce Thompson, Max Crozier and Patrick Moynihan Selected on Day Two of the 2019 NHL Draft

PROVIDENCE, R.I.Rising Providence College sophomore Tyce Thompson (Milford, Conn.) as well as NLI signees Max Crozier (Calgary, Alta.) and Patrick Moynihan (Millis, Mass.) were selected on day two of the 2019 NHL Draft held at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, B.C.
 
Thompson (6-1 • 171 • F), ranked 83rd among North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting entering the weekend, was selected by the New Jersey Devils in the fourth round (96th overall). As a freshman with the Friars in 2018-19, Thompson posted eight goals and 17 assists while appearing in all 42 games. He registered a career-high three points, including the game-winning goal against Minnesota State in the NCAA East Regional Semifinal and was a two-time Hockey East Rookie of the Week.
 
Crozier (6-2 • 190 • D), ranked 85th among North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting, was selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the fourth round (120th overall). An All-USHL Third Team selection in 2018-19, Crozier posted 10 goals and 33 assists in 60 regular season games with the Sioux Falls Stampede before leading them in playoff scoring with 11 points en route to the Clark Cup title. His 43 points ranked sixth among all USHL defensemen during the regular season. Prior to Sioux Falls, Crozier spent the 2017-18 season with the Nanaimo Clippers (BCHL) where he recorded 29 points in 49 games.
 
Moynihan (5-11 • 183 • F), ranked 73rd among North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting, was selected by the New Jersey Devils in the sixth round (158th overall). He recorded 46 points on 19 goals and 26 assists in 64 games with the U.S. National Team Development Program in 2018-19. Against USHL competition, he totaled 22 points in 28 games and added three assists at the Under-18 World Junior Championships for the U.S. in earning a bronze medal. It was his second season with the USNTDP, after tallying 16 goals and 16 assists with the Under-17 program in 2017-18.
