PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College men's hockey has added
JJ Monteiro (Hudson, Mass.) to the roster for the 2026-27 season. Monteiro led the Sioux Falls (USHL) in playoff scoring, guiding the Stampede to the Clark Cup championship.
A co-captain, Monteiro posted career highs in goals (16), assists (35) and points (51) with a +19 rating in 55 regular season games with the Stampede in 2025-26. He led Sioux Falls in playoff scoring with 14 points on eight goals and six assists, including two goals in a decisive game four as the team captured the Clark Cup title over Muskegon.
Monteiro earned a bronze medal at the 2023 Hlinka Gretzky Cup where he posted a goal and three assists over five games. He split the 2024-25 season between Waterloo and Sioux Falls, registering 12 goals and 23 assists. Prior to the USHL, he spent 2023-24 with Salmon Arm of the BCHL and three seasons at Mount St. Charles (R.I) from 2020-23.
