Track’s Brianna Ilarda Earns BIG EAST Women’s Track Athlete of the Week

This marks the second time this season that Ilarda has earned BIG EAST Weekly Honors.

NEW YORK, N.Y. –The BIG EAST announced its weekly track and field awards on Monday, April 29. Senior Brianna Ilarda (Perth, Western Australia) was named the Women's BIG EAST Track Athlete of the Week for her performance at the 125thPenn Relays on Thursday, April 25.
Ilarda won the 3,000 meter-steeplechase at the 125thPenn Relays, marking her third career win at this historic meet. The senior crossed the line in a time of 9:55.4, nine seconds in front of the second place finisher. Ilarda's time was also a meet record.
The Providence College men's and women's teams will be back in action on May 10-11 to compete in the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships in New York, N.Y.
