BUFFALO, N.Y. – The nation's top 25 college hockey players were announced as Division I All-Americans on Friday (April 12) at the Frozen Four in Buffalo, N.Y. Providence College's
Josh Wilkins (Raleigh, N.C.) was named a Second Team CCM/AHCA All-American.
Wilkins put together the best offensive season by a Friar in over 15 seasons, posting 46 points on 20 goals and 26 assists. The 46 points were the most since Jon DiSalvatore's 48 points in 2002-03 and he also was the program's first 20-goal scorer since Peter Fregoe in 2002-03. A First Team Hockey East All-Star in 2018-19, Wilkins' season was highlighted by the nation's longest point streak at 13 games and a run of 11 goals and six assists over his final 10 games of the season. In three NCAA Tournament games, he tallied four goals and two assists to lead the Friars to the Frozen Four Semifinals.
It was the 27
th All-American selection in program history and the fifth-consecutive season a Friar has earned All-American accolades – Jon Gillies (2014-15), Mark Jankowski (2015-16), Jake Walman (2015-16 & 2016-17),
Jacob Bryson (2017-18) and
Josh Wilkins (2018-19).
