The Providence College women's track team competed at the Boston University Terrier Invitational today (Jan. 29).
The Friars had a great turnout in the 3,000 meters with four women capturing personal best performances, including senior Lauren Mullins (Binghamton, N.Y.), junior Catarina Rocha (Peabody, Mass.), and sophomores Brianna Ilarda (Perth, Australia) and Katie Lembo (Penfield, N.Y.). Rocha finished the evening with a fourth-place finish in a time of 9:24.89. Ilarda was just on Rocha's tail at the finish, capturing sixth-place in a time of 9:25.32, while Mullins and Lembo finished seventh (9:26.33) and eighth (9:28.10), respectively.
Additionally, junior Keelin Hollowood (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) ran away with the win in her heat of the 3,000 meters in a time of 10:08.29
Earlier in the day, senior Molly Keating (Rehoboth, Mass.) clocked in at 2:15.41 in the 800 meters.
Also in the mid-distance events, senior Katie Powell (Wrentham, Mass.) finished second in her heat of the 1,000 meters in a personal best of 3:02.37, while graduate-student Devyn Pryor ran a time of 5:06.66 in the mile.
The Friars will return to action on February 6 when they travel to Kingston, R.I. for the URI Coaches Invitational.
