Daniel New Signs With AHL's Springfield Falcons

Providence College senior defenseman Daniel New (White Plains, N.Y.) signed with the American Hockey League's Springfield Falcons, the affiliate of the National Hockey League's Columbus Blue Jackets.

This past season, New served as co-captain of the Friars and recorded a career-high 14 points and 12 assists. His 12 assists and two power-play goals tied for fourth on the team. In addition, 12 of his 14 points came in Hockey East action. In all, New played in 128 career games and recorded eight goals, 31 assists and 39 points.
