NEW YORK, N.Y. - Providence College track athlete Hannah Davidson (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) turned in a solid performance at the Last Chance Qualifier in New York City, doing just that: qualifying for the NCAA Championships. On the men's side, junior Dominic Channon (Nelson, New Zealand) ran a personal best in the mile, making his own bid for a spot in nationals.

Davidson finished the 3000-meters in 9:12.53, shattering both the NCAA qualifying standard and her personal best. The time to beat to get into the NCAA's is 9:17.00. Her best time at this distance was 9:18.94, set last month at Boston University.

Channon, running the mile at the Armory Track and Field Center, won the race in a personal best time of 4:00.30. His previous best indoors was 4:02.32, set last year.

Davidson will likely join three teammates at the NCAA's, which will take place next weekend, March 11-12, at Texas A & M. On the men's side, junior David McCarthy (Waterford, Ireland) has qualified in the 3000-meters, while classmate Julian Matthews (Nelson, New Zealand) will run the mile. For the women, sophomore Shelby Greany (Suffern, N.Y.), though not an automatic qualifier, is likely to be in the 3000-meter field base on time.
