Freshman Sam Roecker Places Fifth In U.S.A. Junior 3,000 Meter Race

DES MOINES, Iowa - Freshman Sam Roecker (Charlton, N.Y.) placed fifth in the 3,000 meters at the U.S.A. Junior Nationals in Des Moines, Iowa. The race was won by Emily Sisson in a time of 9:18.73. Roecker's time of 9:48.87 was an outdoor season best and marks the end of her outdoor track season. Freshman Shelby Greany (Suffern, N.Y.) will compete Friday, June 25 in the 3,000 meter steeplechase at the Junior Nationals.
