Two Men's Basketball Student-Athletes Sign NLIs

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Providence College men's basketball coach Keno Davis announced on November 10, 2010 that student-athletes Kyan Anderson (Crowley, Texas) and Markus Crider (Huber Heights, Ohio) each have signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Providence College beginning in September 2011.
Anderson, a 5-foot-11-inch, 165-pound point guard attends North Crowley High School in Fort Worth, Texas. Last season, Anderson led North Crowley to a 33-5 mark. During his three seasons at North Crowley, Anderson has helped the team post a 104-12 mark. As a junior, he averaged 21.1 points, 6.2 assists, 4.0 steals and 2.4 rebounds per game. Anderson established a school record by scoring 48 points in a game last season. Following the 2010 season, he was named to the Dallas Morning News All-Area Team and earned Fort Worth Star Telegram's Player of the Year honors. Anderson also was selected to the Texas 5A All-Region & All-State First Teams and he was named a MaxPreps Honorable Mention All-American. Anderson is ranked 91st in MaxPreps Top 100 for the class of 2011. He also is ranked as the 29th best point guard in the class of 2011 by ESPN and the 30th best point guard in his class by Scout.com. He played for the Dallas Heroes AAU squad. He is a scoring point guard who also can distribute the ball and get his teammates involved.
Crider, a 6-foot-6-inch, 205-pound forward attends Wayne High School in Ohio. As a junior, he averaged 15.2 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.8 blocks per game. He led his team to a 20-3 record and the Greater Western Ohio Conference Championship. Crider earned First Team All-GWOCC honors, was an All-Metro Dayton selection and was selected Honorable Mention All-State. Crider, who has a recruiting grade of 90 by ESPN, is a Pre-Season All-Ohio Candidate. He is ranked as the 40th best small forward in the class of 2011 by ESPN and he is rated as a three-star recruit by Rivals. Crider played AAU basketball for the King James Shooting Stars. He is a gifted athlete who is a skilled ball handler for his size. Crider is considered an outstanding defender and a strong rebounder.
"We are looking forward to having Kyan and Markus on our team next season," Davis said. "Both of these players are excited about the opportunities at Providence College and they are looking to help us build our program."
