STANFORD, Calif. -- Former Providence College track and cross country standouts Amy Rudolph `95, Kim Smith `05 and Marie McMahon Davenport `98 excelled at the Cardinal Invitational in Stanford, Calif. on Sunday, May 1.
Rudolph and Smith ran the 10,000 meters and finished first and second respectively. Rudolph's time of 31:18.96 is the second fastest 10,000 time ever by an American. Smith, a native of Auckland, New Zealand, completed the 10,000 meters in 31:21.00, which is a New Zealand record. Rudolph and Smith have run the two fastest 10,000 meter races in the world this year.
Davenport won the 5,000 meters in a time of 15:32. All three runners are preparing for the World Championships in Helsinki, Finland on August 6-14.
