PROVIDENCE COLLEGE WOMEN'S TRACK - New England Championship
at University of Rhode Island -- Kingston, R.I. -- February 13, 1999
KINGSTON, R.I. -- Sophomore Rachel Hixson of Media, Pa. won the mile in a time of 4:54.40 at the New England Indoor Track Championship at the University of Rhode Island on Saturday, Feb. 13. With her first-place finish, Hixson earned All-New England honors. Senior Gladys Ganiel of Harrington, Maine also ran for the Friars and finished fifth in the 3,000 meters in a time of 10:08.48

BOSTON, Mass. -- Providence College senior Sarah Dupre of Kingston, Ontario placed second in the 5,000 meters in a time of 16:07.5 at the Valentine Invitational at Boston University and qualified for NCAA Indoor Track Championship on March 5-6 in Indianapolis, Ind. Junior Larry Morrissey of Waterford, Ireland and senior Rick Bush of Clifton Park, N.Y. ran the mile for PC. Morrissey finished fourth in a time of 4:03.51 and Bush placed sixth in a time of 4:05.37. Both runners qualified for NCAA Indoor Track Championship.
