BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Providence College freshman Rachel Hixson of Media, Pa. finished seventh (9:36.64) in the second heat of 3,000 meter preliminaries at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship on Thursday, June 4 in Buffalo, N.Y. Hixson nearly qualified Saturday's 3,000 meter finals, missing the cut by .05 seconds.
The Providence women's track team will continue to compete at the NCAA's with junior Sarah Dupre of Kingston, Ontario and senior Marie McMahon of Ennistymon, Ireland racing in the 5,000 meters on Friday evening.
