Women's Soccer Prepares To Host Monmouth University

The Friars will face off against Monmouth on Thursday, Aug. 20 at 4:00 p.m.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College women's soccer team is set to host the Monmouth Hawks (1-1-0) this Thursday, Aug. 20. The match will kick off at 4:00 p.m. on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium in Providence, R.I. and will be available for streaming on ESPN+.

SCOUTING THE FRIARS… The Providence College women's soccer team recently defeated Rhode Island (1-1-0), 3-0, on Saturday, Aug. 15, in Providence, R.I. On Aug. 12, the Friars opened the season with a tie against UMass Lowell, where freshman Jocy Koffi (Abidjan, Ivory Coast) scored a game-tying goal for the Friars in the 87th minute of the match. In the Friars 3-0 victory against the Rams, Koffi, Courtnee Pickles (Methuen, Mass.) and Isabella Kloock-Jensen (Aabenraa, Denmark) each scored for the team.  
 
STEPHANIE SCHOELEY AND JOCY KOFFI EARN BIG EAST WEEKLY HONORS… Stephanie Schoeley (Thedford, Ont.) and Jocy Koffi earned BIG EAST Weekly honors on Monday, Aug. 17. Schoeley was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week. The junior anchored the Friars' defense, logging 180 minutes of action across two games and helped limit UMass Lowell to only one shot on goal in the match. Koffi was named the BIG EAST Rookie of the Week, after scoring her first and second career goals across the two matches last week and recorded 169 minutes on the field. 
 
MOURATIDIS AND PICKLES NAMED TO PRESEASON ALL-BIG EAST TEAM… Thaea Mouratidis and Courtnee Pickles were named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team. The BIG EAST released its 2026 Preseason Coaches' Poll and preseason honors on Aug. 3. The last time that two Friars were named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team in the same season was 2019. 
 
BIG EAST PRESEASON COACHES POLL… Providence women's soccer was picked to finish sixth in the 2026 BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll, earning 60 points. Providence finished last season with a 3-4-3 record in conference play.
 
SCOUTING THE HAWKS… Monmouth enters Thursday's match with a 1-1-0 record following a loss against Wagner on Sunday. The Hawks were picked to finish second in the Coastal Athletic Association North Division for their 2026 Preseason Poll. Midfielder Chloe Messer and defender Grace Notarfrancesco were named to the All-CAA Preseason Team. Messer last season was named to the All-CAA First Team after scoring three goals including back-to-back game-winners. Notarfrancesco was named to the all-preseason team last year. In her career, she has started in all 38 career games, and last season was second on the team in minutes with 1,580. 
 
SERIES HISTORY AGAINST MONMOUTH… The Friars hold a 3-6-1 all-time record against the Hawks. In their last meeting, the Friars were defeated in a 2-0 loss at Providence on Sept. 11, 2022. 
 
RETURNERS… The Friars return 18 players from last years roster, including multiple All-BIG EAST Team members.

Graduate student midfielder Thaea Mouratidis (Toronto, Ont.) returns to play her fourth season with the Friars. She was named to this year's Preseason All-BIG EAST Team. Throughout her career she has recorded 13 points on two goals and nine assists. Last season, Mouratidis led the team with five assists and notched one goal. She was the lone Friar to be named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team at the end of the season. 

Junior defender Stephanie Schoeley (Thedford, Ont.) enters her third season with the Friars. In her career she has started in all 34 games, totaling eight points on four goals. Last season, Schoeley scored three goals with a team-high 1,427 minutes played. She was one of two players to be named to the All-BIG EAST Third Team. This past summer, Schoeley was invited to participate in the U20 World Cup Training Camp with Team Canada. 
Sophomore forward Courtnee Pickles (Methuen, Mass.) returns for her second season with the Friars. She was named to this year's Preseason All-BIG EAST Team. In her freshman season, Pickles played in all 16 games for the Friars and tied second on the team in points with seven on three goals and one assist. She tallied 1,140 minutes and earned All-BIG EAST Third Team honors.

Sophomore midfielder Emma Gregorski (South Glastonbury, Conn.) enters her second season with Providence. In her freshman campaign, Gregorski totaled 1,204 minutes played and tallied two assists.
 
NEWCOMERS… Providence welcomes nine student-athletes to the program this season, featuring two transfers and seven freshmen. The transfers include graduate student Caitlin Daley (Norwich, Conn.) from New Haven and Carolyn Hinkle (Millersville, Pa.) from Buffalo.

In her three seasons at New Haven, Daley started 49 games in goal and holds a .784 career save percentage. She led the NCAA Division I in total saves with 146 last season, and ranked second in saves per game with 9.13 in 2025. Hinkle played at Buffalo for two seasons, where she appeared in 39 games while starting 16. She totaled eight career points on two goals and four assists. As a freshman in 2024, she was named to the MAC All-Freshman team.

The incoming freshmen class includes Kaitlyn Brady (Covington, La.), Georgia Christos (Madison, N.J.), Kenzie Ellis (Norwich, Conn.), Makenna Foley (Plymouth, Mass.), Jocy Koffi (Abidjan, Ivory Coast), Maria Ravotti (Bradfordwoods, Pa.) and Signe Tingager (Alleroed, Denmark).
 
UP NEXT… The Friars will travel to Boston, Mass. to face off against Northeastern (2-0-0) on Sunday, Aug. 23. The match will start at 4:00 p.m. and be streamed on FloCollege. The Friars are 5-3-1 all-time against the Huskies, after earning a 2-1 victory on Aug. 24 last season in Boston, Mass.
