PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Providence College men's soccer team (2-2-0) will face Harvard University (0-1-0) on Friday, Sept. 5 at 7:00 p.m. on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.

SCOUTING THE FRIARS
The Friars enter Friday's game coming off two consecutive wins, defeating Boston College, 2-0, on Aug. 29 at home and Rhode Island, 3-1, on Sept. 1 on the road. The Friars have five different goal scorers to begin the season. Seniors
Cameron Yriondo (Sammamish, Wash.),
Caden Stafford (Cincinnatus, N.Y.),
Ian Abbey (Elmer, N.J.) and
Bruno Rosa (Cascais, Portugal) have scored goals for the Friars, while redshirt freshman goalkeeper
Ryan Carney (Dunstable, Mass.) earned his first career clean sheet against Boston College with one save. Senior
Sam Montalto (Stonington, Conn.) leads the Friars in assists (two). Freshman
Angelo Ventrella (Toronoto, Canada) recorded his first career goal against Rhode Island.
Through three matches, Providence holds a 62-36 edge in shots, including 21 on target. Carney has been a steady presence in goal for the Friars, allowing just three goals across 360 minutes with a .750 goals against average and a .800 save percentage. The Friars' back line of sophomore

Brandon Marshall (Wake Forest, N.C.) have been strong in front of Carney as well.
Two returners earned All-BIG EAST honors last season for the Friars. Rosa earned All-BIG EAST Second Team. Senior midfielder
Diego Batista (Barcelos, Portugal) was named to the All-BIG EAST Third Team. Both Rosa and Batista were named to the 2025 Preseason All-BIG EAST Team on Aug. 19.
Junior midfielder
Pearse O'Brien (West Hartford, Conn.) enters his third season with the Friars. Throughout his career in Providence, he has solidified himself as a strong offensive threat, recording four goals and 11 assists. He was named to the BIG EAST All-Tournament Team in 2024.
SCOUTING THE CRIMSON
The Crimson enter the game after losing their season opener at home to Belmont, 1-0. In 2024, Harvard finished in a tie for fourth place in the Ivy League standings, placing in the top half of the conference table for the fourth consecutive season. The Crimson return a pair of All-Ivy honorees in senior defender Ethan Veghte and junior forward Ben Kelly. Harvard was picked to finish sixth in the 2025 Ivy Leage Men's Soccer Preseason Poll.
