PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College men's golf team returns to action on Sunday, Sept. 28 through Tuesday Sept 30, at the UConn Invitational at GreatHorse in Hampden, Mass.

The three round tournament will play out over Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. The field includes 14 other schools: Lafayette College, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Fairfield University, Siena University, Sacred Heart University, Holy Cross, Trinity College, Boston College, St. John's University, University of Rhode Island, University of Connecticut, Villanova University, Bryant University and Merrimack College.
GreatHorse was formerly known as Hampden Country Club before being purchased in January 2012 and reopening in 2015. Redesigned by New England golf course architect Brian Silva, the par-72 layout stretches 7,093 yards. The 2025 UConn Invitational will be the seventh time the tournament has been held.
Last Tuesday, Providence completed the two-day Ryan T. Lee Memorial at Wethersfield Country Club. The Friars tied for sixth in the 15-team field with a score of 582 (+14). Junior Campbell Skelly (Charleston, S.C.) led the way, finishing tied for fifth overall at 141 (-1). Juniors Evan Buddenhagen (Gloucester, Mass.) and Joe Halferty (Blue Bell, Pa.) along with freshman Callan Fahey (Wheaton, Ill.) all tied for 21st.
The Friars opened the season at the Sacred Heart Fall Classic on Sept. 8-9, placing eighth in the 13-team field with a score of 918 (+54). Callan Fahey led Providence with a 10th-place finish at 221 (+5) in the 80-player field.
