Three Friars Named to Division I NEILA All-New England Team

Ryan Bell was named to the First Team; Rhett Chambers and Quinn McConnaughey received Second Team accolades.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - It was announced today (May 16) that Providence College senior midfield/attack Ryan Bell (Smithtown, N.Y.), sophomore attack Rhett Chambers (Larchmont, N.Y.) and senior faceoff specialist Quinn McConnaughey (Cohasset, Mass.) each earned 2025 NEILA Division I All-New England Team honors.  Bell was named to the First Team and Chambers and McConnaughey earned Second Team accolades. 

Bell was named to the All-New England Team for the third time, joining Tate Boyce '19 and Jarrod Newman as the only Friars with three All-New England Team selections. Bell started all 15 games this season for the Friars and led the team with 66 points on 17 goals and 49 assists. He was recently named a USA Lacrosse Honorable Mention All-American (5/8) and Nike Lacrosse Media All-American Honorable Mention presented by Inside Lacrosse (5/14). The senior attacker is the Providence College all-time scoring leader with 236 career points (68 goals / 168 assists), having passed Ken Leahy '00, who closed his career with 188 points (112 goals / 76 assists). Bell is also the program's all-time assist leader (168), having passed Matt Pymm '99, who closed his career with 102 assists. He set the Providence College single-season assist record this season (49), breaking his own record (45), which he set in 2024. Bell also tied the single-season points record (66); a record he previously set in the final game of the 2024 season. Kyle Ojakian '02 set both records with 42 assists and 63 points in 2002. Bell has scored five-or-more points in seven games this season, including three games with seven or more. Bell recorded a career-high eight assists in the team's season opener versus Holy Cross (Feb. 1). He ranks first in the BIG EAST and first among NCAA Division I players in assists per game (3.27). He also led the BIG EAST and is tied for 15th among NCAA Division I players in points per game (4.40). Bell closed his career tied for 18th in all-time assists amongst NCAA Division I players (168). The senior was a unanimous selection to the All-BIG EAST First Team and was named to the BIG EAST All-Tournament Team. He was honored by the BIG EAST five times during the regular season on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll (2/3, 2/10, 3/10, 4/28). Bell was named BIG EAST Preseason Offensive Player of the Year and earned USA Lacrosse Magazine Preseason All-American Third Team, Nike Lacrosse Media Preseason All-American Honorable Mention and Nike Lacrosse Midseason Media All-American Honorable Mention honors. He was also named to the Tewaaraton Watch List for a second-straight year. Bell was honored as the Providence College Male Athlete of the Year for Team Sports at the 64th Annual All-Sports Gala on April 28.

Chambers started 14 of the 15 games he appeared in for the Friars. He recorded a career-high 26 points on a career-best in goals (18) and assists (eight) in 2025. The sophomore recorded a career high four points on two goals and two assists in a victory at No. 16/16 Denver on April 19.  

McConnaughey has played all 15 games as the primary faceoff man for the Friars. The senior compiled a 172-307 record from the faceoff 'X' on a .560 faceoff percentage. He won 19-of-29 faceoffs versus No. 19/17 Harvard and 12-of-19 at No. 16/16 Denver. McConnaughey picked up a team-high 80 groundballs and has scored seven points on three goals and four assists. He finished the season ranked first in the BIG EAST in groundballs per game (5.33) and fourth in faceoff percentage (.560). McConnaughey was named BIG EAST Specialist of the Week on Feb. 17.
