PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Providence College men's and women's distance medley teams competed in the second day of Penn Relays on Friday, April 25 in Philadelphia, Pa. The women took second place in the Women's Distance Medley Championship of America while the men finished fourth in the College Men's Distance Medley College.

The women's distance medley team of graduate student
Shannon Flockhart (Cambridge, England), junior
Jill Fenerty (Franklin, Mass.), sophomore
Maeve O'Neill (Cork, Ireland) and senior
Kimberley May (Auckland, New Zealand) placed second (10:42.57), less than a second behind first place.
On the men's side, the distance medley relay team of sophomore
Tyler Bartlett (Fairfield, Conn.), senior
Brett Lehman (Lower Gwynedd, Pa.), freshman
Thomas Breen (Providence, R.I.) and graduate student
Pat Thygesen (Brisbane, Australia) finished fourth overall in a time of 9:51.33.
