Guillaume Richard Inks Entry-Level Contract With The Columbus Blue Jackets

Richard earned Second Team Hockey East All-Star recognition in his senior season at Providence College.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College senior defenseman Guillaume Richard (Cap-Sante, Que.) has signed a two-year entry-level contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets beginning in the 2025-26 season. Richard will report to the Cleveland Monsters (AHL) on an amateur try-out for the remainder of the 2024-25 season. Richard was a fourth-round selection (101st overall) of the Blue Jackets in the 2021 NHL Draft.
 
Serving as an alternate captain in 37 games this season, Richard totaled 14 points on two goals and 12 assists with a +7 rating and team-high 41 blocked shots. He led all Friar skaters with an average of 22:47 time on ice. For his efforts, Richard earned Second Team Hockey East All-Star accolades this season. In 139 career games at Providence, Richard recorded 54 points on nine goals and 45 assists with a +24 rating.
