PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College junior Philip Svedebäck (Växjö, Sweden) was named by the Hockey Commissioners Association (HCA) on Tuesday (Jan. 14) as one of 35 goaltenders to the Watch List for the Mike Richter Award, given annually to the top men's NCAA Division I goaltender since 2014. This marks Svedebäck's third-consecutive season on the Mike Richter Award Watch List.
Svedebäck was named Hockey East Goaltender of the Month for December after posting four wins and assisting the Friars to their current eight-game winning streak. Overall in 2024-25, Svedebäck is 11-2-1 with a 2.24 GAA and .918 save percentage in 14 games played. In six Hockey East appearances, he is 4-1-1 with a 2.23 GAA and .928 save percentage.
