Men’s And Women’s Track Teams Compete At Brown Invitational

The Friars compete next on Friday, Feb. 23 and Saturday, Feb. 24 at the BIG EAST Championships in Chicago, Ill.
PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Providence College men's and women's indoor track teams competed in Providence, R.I. at the Brown Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 17. Seven Friars set personal records.
The Friars sealed the top-three places in the 500 meters. Lexi Brent (York, Maine) finished first with a personal record of 1:17.32. Polly Bogdan (Rochester, N.Y.) followed with a personal record of 1:17.45 and Halle Atkinson (Franklin, Mass.) finished third in 1:17.53.
Claire Kelly (Cornwall on Hudson, N.Y.) finished first in the mile with a time of 5:02.17.
Nicole Borowiec (Denville, N.J.) won the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 8.76. Charlotte Cousins (Madbury, N.H.) followed in 9.06 for third place.
In the 60-meter finals, Hawa Grear (Providence, R.I.) placed third in 7.95. Following Grear was Cousins in a personal record time of 8.02, Jenna Jacobs (Jefferson, N.Y.) in 8.17 and Cate Parks (Marion, Mass.) with a personal record time of 8.20.
Alyssa Healy (South Glastonbury, Conn.) and Maggie Kemper (Huntington, N.Y.) set personal records in the 300 meters of 42.31 and 42.83, respectively.
Shea Podbelski (Norton, Mass.) ran a 3:03.73 to place fourth in the 1,000 meters.
On the men's side, Jon Mignacca (Seekonk, Mass.) set a personal record in the high jump of 2.02 meters to place first.
Josh Lewin (West Chester, Pa.) placed first in the 1,000 meters with a time of 2:28.75, followed by Tyler Bartlett (Fairfield, Conn.) in 2:28.93 for second place.
Kyle Bloomer (Darien, Conn.) and Brett Lehman (Lower Gwynedd, Pa.) ran personal records in the 300 meters to finish first (35.46) and second (35.47), respectively.
In the 5,000 meters, Claudio Rocha (Peabody, Mass.) placed first with a time of 15:22.83.
Ryan Bush (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) ran a 4:33.65 to place second in the mile.
