PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The No. 10 Providence College men's ice hockey team skated to a win on Friday (Dec. 6) at Schneider Arena, topping No. 8 Colorado College with a 4-3 victory. Tomas Machu scored the game-winning goal in the third period, his first collegiate goal.

NOTES
- The Tigers got onto the board midway through the first period, as Drew Montgomery collected a feed in front of the net before skating across the crease and punching it in on the backhand, giving Colorado College the 1-0 advantage.
- Providence knotted things up on a one-timer from Trevor Connelly, who buried a cross-ice feed from Austen May just 1:57 into the second frame to make it 1-1. Andrew Centrella also earned an assist on the score.
- The Friars earned their first lead of the night just under 10 minutes later, when Logan Sawyer collected a turnover on the forecheck, cashing in on Mbereko's glove-side for his second goal of the season.
- Providence collected their third goal of the period with 35.3 seconds to play, as Andrew Centrella connected with Hudson Malinoski in the high slot, who rifled it past Mbereko's glove-side on a one-timer to put the Friars ahead 3-1. Austen May also earned an assist in the effort.
- Colorado College clawed back to within a goal early in the third period, as Chase McLane caught a piece of a Philippe Blais-Savoie shot before re-directing it in.
- The Friars re-gained their two-goal advantage just two minutes later, as Tomas Machu collected a rebound before firing home from the right face-off dot for his first collegiate goal. John Mustard and Logan Will were each credited assists on the play.
- The Tigers got one back at the 6:34 mark, as forward Gleb Veremyev collected a rebound in front before pocketing it top shelf, cutting the score to a 4-3 Friar advantage.
- Philip Svedebäck stood tall the rest of the way, leading the Friars to the final 4-3 score. In the victory, Svedebäck stopped 29-of-32 shots, good for a .906 save percentage.
- Eight different Friars collected a point in the win, headlined by two-assist outings from Andrew Centrella and Austen May.
- In total, 15 different players landed a shot on net in the win, led by a six-shot showing from Trevor Connelly and four from Austen May.
- Providence extended its winning streak to four games.
- The Friars are now 8-1 in one-goal games this season.
