Last Time Out vs. UNH:
- The No. 11 Providence College men's ice hockey team closed out their weekend sweep over New Hampshire with a 3-0 road win Saturday, November 2 at the Whittemore Center in Durham.
- Neither team scored in the opening period, leading to a 10-10 deadlock on the shot chart through 20 minutes.
- Providence found their first of the game early in the second period, as
Will Elger found the back of the net for the fourth-consecutive game.
Braiden Clark and
Clint Levens both picked up a point on the goal.
- The Friars tacked on their second of the game at 5:24 in the third period thanks to a
Logan Will goal, putting Providence ahead 2-0.
- Providence iced the game late in the third, as
Tanner Adams connected on an empty net to secure the 3-0 win for the Friars.

Scouting the Huskies:
- Northeastern (1-3-1, 0-1-1 HEA) enters their weekend home-and-home series with the Friars following a weekend without action. The Huskies last played on Oct. 25-26 when they hosted No. 6 Maine, losing 4-1 Friday (Oct. 25) before tying the Black Bears 2-2 Saturday (Oct. 26).
- Through five games this season, forward Cam Lund (4-0-4) leads the Huskies in goals with four, followed by Jack Williams (2-4-6) and Dylan Hryckowian (2-3-5) with two apiece. In total, seven Huskies have netted a score this season.
- Defenseman Vinny Borgesi (1-5-6) leads Northeastern in assists this year with five, followed by Willams with four and Hryckowian with three. Ten Huskies have tallied an assist this season.
- Williams and Borgesi currently lead Northeastern's roster with six points each, followed by five from Hryckowian and four from Lund and Cristophe Tellier (1-3-4). In total, twelve Huskies have registered a point this season.
- In net, the Huskies have looked to sophomore Cameron Whitehead. In five starts this season, Whitehead has led the Huskies to a 1-3-1 record alongside a 2.77 goals against average and a .914 save percentage.

Series History vs. Northeastern (94-58-22, .603)
This weekend's matchup with Northeastern marks the first and second of four meetings between the Huskies and Friars this season. Since the 2021-22 season, Providence has earned a 4-2-2 record over the Huskies and are currently riding a six-game unbeaten streak, dating back to a 2-1 Friars win in Boston on Oct. 15, 2022. In that span, the Friars are 1-1-2 at home and 3-1-0 when facing the Huskies at Matthews Arena. The Friars and Huskies will face off again at the Ledyard Classic in Hanover, NH on Dec. 28 before meeting on Mar. 8 at Matthews Arena in Boston to close out the regular season.

Eight Former Friars Earn Spots On NHL Opening Night Rosters
The Friars boasted eight alums that appeared on NHL opening night rosters - Noel Acciari (PIT), Jacob Bryson (BUF), Vincent Desharnais (VAN), Brandon Duhaime (WSH), Mark Jankowski (NSH), Kevin Rooney (CGY), Brandon Tanev (SEA) and Jake Walman (SJ).

Leaman Hits Milestone
Head Coach
Nate Leaman earned his 249th career victory at Providence on Nov. 11, 2023, passing Lou Lamoriello as the program's winningest head coach all-time. Last weekend, Leaman hit 400 career wins as a Division I head coach in Providence's 3-2 overtime win at Vermont. Leaman is the only Hockey East coach to post a winning record in each of the last 12 seasons.

Through seven games this season,
Tanner Adams (5-2-7) leads Providence with five goals, followed by
Will Elger (4-2-6) and
Ryan O'Reilly (3-2-5).
Logan Will (2-5-7) headlines the Friars' assist totals with five, trailed by four assists from
Nick Poisson (2-4-6),
Taige Harding (1-4-5), and
Guillaume Richard (0-4-4). This season, 19 different Friars have connected for a point, paced by Adams and Will with seven points apiece.

PK Dominance:
The Providence penalty kill has gotten off to a strong start this season, killing off 20-of-22 opportunities (.909). The team successfully killed off 12 straight, including a perfect 7-for-7 at New Hampshire on Saturday.

With an assist last Friday at home against New Hampshire, graduate student
Nick Poisson sits one point shy of the century mark in career scoring with 99 points. He aims to become the 55th member of the program to reach the 100-point milestone.

Borgiel Earns Hockey East Goaltender of the Week Honors:
Providence College's
Zachary Borgiel (Fort Gratiot, Mich.) was named Stop It Goaltending's Hockey East Goaltender of the Week on Monday, November 4. The recognition marks Borgiel's second time receiving the accolade this season, having previously shared it with teammate Philip Svedebäck on October 21. Borgiel stopped all 43 shots faced in Providence's 3-0 win over New Hampshire.
