Sophia Adkins earns BIG EAST Weekly Honors.
PROVIDENCE, R.I.- Providence College freshman outside hitter Sophia Adkins (Cincinnati, Ohio) was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday, Nov. 18. It marks the first weekly honor of her career.

Adkins got the weekend started in a big way, finishing with a season-high 20 kills in a four-set loss to Seton Hall. Providence would bounce back with a win the next day against DePaul, led by Adkins' 16 kills, eight digs and two blocks.

WHATS NEXT… The Friars will close out their regular season on the road next weekend against Villanova and St. Johns. They face Villanova on Friday, Nov. 22 at 6:00 p.m. in Villanova Pa. and St. Johns on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 5:00 p.m. in Queens, N.Y.
