Providence, R.I. - Providence College volleyball defeated Saint Peter's in straight sets (3-0) to kick off the Annual Friar Classic on Friday, September 8 in Providence, R.I.
FIRST SET HIGHLIGHTS: Friars won set one, 25-13.
- The Friars took an early 6-1 lead, before the Peacocks scored five unanswered points to tie the set at 6-6.
- Providence then scored eight of the next nine points making it 14-7 causing Saint Peter's to call a timeout.
- The Friars controlled the lead the rest of the set winning 25-13.

Macy Taylor (Rowlett, Texas) registered five kills in the first set.
SECOND SET HIGHLIGHTS: Providence took the second set, 25-16, for the 2-0 edge in the match.
- The Friars got off to a quick start taking a 7-2 lead.
- Providence stretched their lead to 13-6, forcing a Saint Peter's timeout.
- The Friars held onto the lead for the remainder of the set winning 25-16.

Macy Taylor each tallied three kills in the set.
THIRD SET HIGHLIGHTS: The Friars won set three to take the match.
- The Friars got off to a 8-4 lead in the third set.
- Providence scored five of the next seven points making it 13-6.
- The Friars went on an 8-3 run to make it 21-10.
- Providence closed out the set to win the match.
-Shaliyah Rhoden (Rowlett, Texas) posted three kills in the final set.
