Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Providence College volleyball fell to Boston College in three sets (3-0) on Friday, September 15 in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. The Friars play again today at 4:00 p.m. against Merrimack College. 
 
FIRST SET HIGHLIGHTS: Boston college won set one, 25-18.
- The two teams went back-and-forth to start the set making it 4-4. 
- Boston college went on an 8-3 run to take the 12-7 lead forcing Providence to call a timeout.
- The Friars went on a 6-2 run to cut the score to 17-15. 
- The Eagles held onto their lead for the rest of the set, winning 25-18.
- Savannah Ivie (Frisco, Texas) had five digs in the first set.
 
SECOND SET HIGHLIGHTS: The Eagles took set two, 27-25, for a 2-0 lead in the match. 
- Boston College got off to an 9-6 lead in the second set. 
- Providence went on a 4-1 run to tie the set at 10-10. 
- The Eagles scored eight of the next 13 points, taking an 18-15 lead. 
- The Friars went on a 5-1 run late in the set to tie the score at 22-22.
- Boston College closed out the set, winning 27-25. 
- Macy Taylor (Rowlett, Texas) registered seven kills in the second set. 
 
THIRD SET HIGHLIGHTS: Boston College won the third set, 25-23, to take the match. 
- The two teams went back-and-forth to start the third set, splitting the first 12 points.
- The Eagles went on a 5-3 run to take the 11-8 lead to force a Providence timeout.  
- The Friars fought back to tie the set at 12-12.
- Boston College went on a 4-0 run to take the 16-12 lead before Providence went on a 9-2 run to take the 21-18 lead. 
- The Eagles went on a 7-2 run late in the set to clinch the match.
- The Friars had three service aces in the third set. 
 
MATCH NOTES:
- Taylor led the Friars in kills (14) while hitting .361. 
- Ivie led the defense in digs with 13.
- As a team, the Friars tallied 38 kills and 42 digs.
