Abilene, Texas. - The Providence College volleyball team fell to Abilene Christian University in five sets on Sept. 1 in Abilene, Texas.
FIRST SET HIGHLIGHTS: Providence took set one, 25-16.
-The Friars got off to a quick 6-1 lead.
-Abilene Christian scored five-straight points cutting the score to 7-6.
-The two teams went back-and-forth in the middle of the set making it 14-10 Providence.
-The Friars controlled a steady lead through the middle of the set giving them the 18-11 lead.
-The Friars closed out the set to take the 1-0 lead in the match.

Kayla Grant (Rowlett, Texas) registered four kills in the first set.
SECOND SET HIGHLIGHTS: The Friars won set two, 25-23, giving them the 2-0 edge.
-The Friars got off to another quick start giving them an 8-5 lead.
-From this point, the Friars held onto their lead going back-and-forth with the Wildcats gaining a 15-12 lead at the mid-point mark.
- The Friars went on a late 6-1 run to make it 21-14.
-Providence held onto the lead for the remainder of the set winning, 25-23.

Kayla Grant led the offense in the second set with five kills.

Macy Taylor (Rowlett, Texas) had two service aces in the second set.
THIRD ROUND HIGHLIGHTS: The Wildcats won set three, 25-20.
-The Wildcats started the third set with a 5-1 lead.
-The Friars fought back cutting the score to 9-7.
-The Friars went on a 4-1 run giving them the 14-13 lead before the Wildcats scored five straight points taking back the lead 18-14.
- Abilene Christian closed out the set winning, 25-20.

Shaliyah Rhoden (Rowlett, Texas) put up three kills in the third set.
FOURTH ROUND HIGHLIGHTS: Abilene Christian won set four, 26-24, to tie the match, 2-2.
- Providence started the fourth set on a 7-2 run.
- The Wildcats scored four unanswered points cutting the score to 11-10.
- The two teams went back-and-forth through the middle of the set making it 17-15 Providence.
- The Wildcats went on a 5-0 run giving them the 20-17 lead.
- The Friars scored three unanswered points late in the set to tie the match at 23-23.
- The Wildcats went on a 3-1 run to win the fourth set.
FIFTH ROUND HIGHLIGHTS: The Wildcats took set five, winning the match 3-2.
- The two team battled it out to start the fifth set making it 5-5 before the Wildcats went on a 6-1 run earning the 11-6 lead.
- The Wildcats controlled the lead for the remainder of the set winning 15-9.
- The Friars combined for five kills in the fifth set.

- Taylor led the Friars in kills, with 13.

- The Friars notched 45 kills and 51 digs.
