PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College field hockey team defeated Bryant, 1-0, on Friday, Sept. 1 at Lennon Family Field in Providence, R.I. The Friars improved to 1-2 on the season, while the Bulldogs dropped to 2-1 overall.
1ST QUARTER:
• The match was scoreless through the opening 15 minutes of action.
• Providence outshot Bryant, 2-0.
• Both teams earned one penalty corner in the first quarter.
2ND QUARTER:
• The second quarter remained scoreless (0-0).
• Providence outshot Bryant, 2-0, and also held a 1-0 edge in penalty corners.
3RD QUARTER:
• Graduate student
Lisa McNamara put the Friars on the board at 41:32. She carried the ball into the top of the circle and fired a low shot into the bottom left of the cage.
• The Friars held a 3-1 advantage in shots during the frame. Providence held a 2-0 edge in penalty corners.
4TH QUARTER:
• The Friars outshot Bryant 2-1 in the final quarter and held a 3-2 edge in penalty corners.
• Both of Bryant's offensive corners came in the final 1:12 of play.

Asia Porter recorded a save with 17 seconds left in regulation to record the shutout victory.
NOTES:
• For the game, Providence outshot Bryant, 9-2, including a 4-2 edge in shots on goal.
• The Friars recorded seven offensive corners on the day, while Bryant was awarded three.
• McNamara's goal marked her first of the season and sixth of her career. McNamara also has three game-winning goals in her career with the Friars.
• Porter finished the day with two saves overall.
• Dieneke Hes registered three saves in goal for Bryant.
