Last Time Out…
- The Friars are coming off a weekend series with conference opponent No. 15/16 University of New Hampshire (4-2-1, 2-1-1 HEA), tying Friday's contest 1-1, but earning the extra point in a 1-0 shootout victory, and winning Saturday's matchup in a 2-0 shutout of the Wildcats.
- The Friars were first on the board in Friday's game, as sophomore forward
Liam Valente broke the stalemate late in the second period to give Providence the 1-0 advantage.
- New Hampshire's Morgan Winters found the equalizer midway through the third period by way of a shorthanded breakaway, knotting the affair at 1-1.
- Both teams remained scoreless through the extra period of play, resulting in the final 1-1 tie between the Wildcats and Friars.

Liam Valente found the only goal in shootout, beating Jakob Hellsten low on his blocker side to secure the extra point for the Friars.
- On Saturday, blueliner
Guillaume Richard gave the Friars the early 1-0 advantage just under two minutes into the first period, tallying his first goal of the season.

Svedebäck Named Hockey East Goaltender of the Week
Sophomore netminder Philip Svedebäck stopped 48-of-49 shots he faced over two games against #15/16 New Hampshire last weekend for a 0.48 goals-against average and .980 save percentage. Svedebäck turned away 28 shots, including all four shootout attempts on Friday, before stopping all 20 shots he faced in a 2-0 Friars win on Saturday night while earning his second-career shutout. It was the third Hockey East Goaltender of the Week recognition in his career.

Providence boasts one of the strongest penalty kill units across the NCAA this season, ranking as the sixth-most efficient unit with a 93.2% kill rate on extra-attacker opportunities. Providence has killed off their last 31 penalties, dating back to the Friars' 4-3 victory over Denver on October 20, 2023. The Friars are also tied with eight other schools for the fifth-most shorthanded goals by team this season, with a pair of scores coming on the penalty kill.

- Through five games this season, forwards Cam Lund (2-5-7), Alex Campbell (2-3-5), Liam Walsh (2-1-3), and defenseman Pito Walton (2-2-4) pace the Huskies in goals, all with two apiece. Eleven different players on Northeastern's roster have tallied goals this season.

- The Huskies are still searching for their first win in Hockey East play on the 2023-24 season. Along with Friday's loss to Massachusetts, the Huskies dropped a pair of contests to New Hampshire and Merrimack, losing both games with a final 4-1 score.

- The Friars and Huskies will meet for the first two of three matchups this season beginning on Friday night in Providence. The teams will play a third time in the regular season finale on March 9 at Schneider Arena.
