PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The No. 7/9 Providence College men's hockey scored early and finished with a sound defensive effort in a 2-0 victory over No. 15/16 New Hampshire on Saturday, November 4 at Schneider Arena. Goaltender Philip Svedebäck stood tall, stopping all 20 shots faced en route to his first shutout of the 2023-24 season.

NOTES
- Blueliner Guillaume Richard gave the Friars the early 1-0 lead, burying his first goal of the 2023-24 season just 1:39 into the first period. Connor Kelley and Hudson Malinoski found him on the play.
- Jamie Engelbert tallied his second goal of the season late in the second period, extending the Friars' advantage to 2-0 with just under two minutes to play in the middle frame. Chase Yoder and Graham Gamache each notched an assist on the scoring effort.
- Neither team broke through offensively in the third period, bringing about Saturday's final 2-0 decision. New Hampshire pulled goaltender Jakob Hellsten with 2:30 remaining in the third period, but the Wildcats were unable to find the back of the net.
- Netminder Philip Svedebäck earned his second-career shutout in the win and stopped 48-of-49 shots he faced over the weekend.
- Six different Friars tallied points Saturday night, including one first-of-season goal from defenseman Guillaume Richard.
- Captain Chase Yoder paced the Friars in shots, finishing with three registered attempts on net. Five different Friars notched a pair of shots on goal.
- Providence extends their unbeaten streak to seven games (5-0-2) and remain unbeaten in Hockey East play (2-0-2).
- The Friars penalty kill streak was extended to 31-consecutive kills over the last six games.
- Providence ends the weekend in first place in the Hockey East standings with nine points.
