Last Time Out…
- The Friars opened Hockey East play on the 2023-24 season with visiting University of Vermont (1-2-1 0-1-1 HEA), winning Friday's contest 4-1 and knotting Saturday's matchup with a 2-2 tie. Vermont earned the extra point in a 1-0 shootout victory.
- Providence opened the scoring on Friday night, as Jaroslav Chmelar found the back of the net to give the Friars a 1-0 lead.
- Taige Harding extended the Friars lead midway through the second period to give Providence a 2-0 advantage.
- Within the minute, Luke Krys notched his first goal of the season, pushing the Friars' advantage to three goals.
- Halfway through the third period, Vermont's Simon Jellus got one past the defense, cutting Providence's lead down to a pair of goals.
- Forward Chase Yoder lit the lamp with 5:14 to go in the third period, bringing about Friday's final 4-1 score.
- It was the Friars who opened the scoring on Saturday, after forward Nick Poisson found his third of the season to give Providence an early 1-0 lead.
- Vermont's Simon Jellus responded quickly, registering the equalizer just over a minute later.
- Neither team broke through offensively in the second period. The Friars outshot the Catamounts 12-7 in the second frame.

Desharnais Scores First NHL Goal
Former Friar Vincent Desharnais '19 scored his first-career NHL goal in Edmonton's 5-2 win over Calgary in the 2023 Heritage Classic.
 
Changing of the Guard
The Friars have appointed Cam McDonald and Chase Yoder as co-captains and Craig Needham and Nick Poisson as alternate captains for the 2023-24 season.

- Through five games this season, sophomore forwards Cy LeClerc (3-3-6), Stiven Sardarian (3-2-5), and Morgan Winters (3-1-4) all lead the Wildcats in goals with three apiece.
- Newcomer Ryan Conmy (1-6-7) leads the Wildcats in assists this season with six. Conmy paces the Wildcats roster with seven points on the 2023-24 season.
