Last Time Out…
- The Friars are coming off a weekend series with conference opponent Northeastern University (2-5-0, 0-5-0 HEA), winning Friday's contest 2-1 in overtime and taking Saturday's game 5-2 on the road.
- Providence was the first team to strike in Friday's game, as forward Riley Duran got one past the defense in the waning minutes of the first period to give the Friars the 1-0 lead.
- Northeastern responded early in the second period, capitalizing on the power-play to knot the game at 1-1 off a shot from Gunnarwolfe Fontaine.
- Neither team broke through offensively in the third period, sending the conference matchup to overtime.
- Midway through the extra period, Providence's Luke Krys nabbed the game-winning goal off a rebound, keeping the Friars undefeated at home on the 2023-24 season.
- The Friars were the first to light the lamp on Saturday, as Chase Yoder fired a one-timer past Whitehead in the first period to give Providence the early 1-0 advantage.
- Providence doubled their advantage in the final minutes of the first period by way of a Tanner Adams goal, giving the freshman his third of the season.
- Neither team found success offensively in the second period, keeping Providence's 2-0 advantage intact.
- Northeastern's offense showed signs of life early in the third period as forward Gunnarwolfe Fontaine notched a power-play goal to pull the game to a 2-1 score.
- Providence's Hudson Malinoski regained the two-goal lead around six minutes later, giving the Friars a 3-1 advantage.
- The Huskies once again capitalized on the power-play, as Justin Hyrckowian tagged a goal, pulling the game back within a score at 3-2.
- With under five minutes to go, forward Nick Poisson fed Tanner Adams coming from the penalty box on a breakaway, giving the freshman his second of the night and doubling the Friars lead to 4-2.
- Late in the third period, Jaroslav Chmelar created a turnover in front of the NU net and fired a shot past Whitehead to account for the 5-2 final.

Leaman Hits Milestone
Head Coach Nate Leaman earned his 249th career victory at Providence last Saturday, passing Lou Lamoriello as the program's winningest head coach all-time. Leaman sits at 387 career victories as a Division I head coach.
 
Changing of the Guard
The Friars have appointed Cam McDonald and Chase Yoder as co-captains and Craig Needham and Nick Poisson as alternate captains for the 2023-24 season.
 
Lockdown Defense
Philip Svedebäck has been one of the top goaltenders this year, allowing an average of 1.74 goals per game, good for sixth-fewest among qualifying netminders this season. Svedebäck also boasts a .923 save percentage this season, tied for seventeenth-best with Vermont's Gabe Carriere. In six league games, Svedebäck has posted a 1.13 GAA and .946 save percentage.

Through eleven games played, Jaroslav Chmelar (5-6-11) and Tanner Adams (4-7-11) both lead the Friars with eleven points each. Chase Yoder (4-5-9) trails the duo at nine points while Nick Poisson (3-5-8) and Luke Krys (2-6-8) both follow with eight points registered each on the 2023-24 campaign.

- After a tough stretch against the Minutemen over a period of a few seasons, the Friars have won three of the last five meetings between the schools, including two of three meetings last season.
