PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College field hockey team will host non-conference foe Northeastern on Thursday, April 1 at 1:00 p.m. at Lennon Family Field in Providence, R.I. The squad will then hit the road to take on BIG EAST opponent Quinnipiac on Saturday, April 3 at 1:00 p.m. in Hamden, Conn.
SCOUTING PROVIDENCE:
• The Friars opened the 2021 spring season with four-straight losses, but recently picked up a split against Temple in its most recent weekend series.
• On March 27, the Friars overcame a 2-0 deficit at Temple, scoring two goals in the fourth quarter to force overtime on their way to a 3-2 win in a shootout.
• Outside of its two matches against nationally-ranked Connecticut, the Friars have combined to outshoot their opponents (Temple and Quinnipiac), 45-24, including a 23-17 advantage in shots on goal. Providence also has recorded 29 penalty corners, while giving up just nine.

Nora Goddard-Despot and
Amanda Collins are tied for the team lead in points (three), having each recorded one goal and one assist.
Niamh Gowing also has scored one goal for the Friars.

Camryn Kelbaugh has played 320 minutes in the cage and owns a 2.25 goals against average and 0.625 save percentage.
SCOUTING NORTHEASTERN:
• The Huskies come to Friartown with a 1-5 overall record.
• Northeastern's lone victory came against Bryant University (3-1) on March 27. Since that win, the Huskies have lost four straight games, including a 3-1 loss to Towson in its most recent game (March 27).
• Lauren Rowe leads the Huskies in points (10), goals (four) and is tied for first in assists (two).
• Mak Graves is the only other player on the roster to have multiple goals this season (two).
• Graves and Angela Connolly are tied for second in points, with four each.
• Erin Savage has played 339 minutes in the cage for Northeastern and has recorded a 3.54 goals against average and a 0.623 save percentage.
SCOUTING QUINNIPIAC:
• Quinnipiac enters the weekend with a 2-5 record, with both victories coming against Providence.
• The Bobcats were able to pull off both of those wins despite the Friars' advantage in shots (28-9), shots on goal (15-6) and penalty corners (17-6).
• Jess Halley leads the Bobcats in scoring with six points on two goals and two assists.
• Olivia Howard and Julianna Cappello are the only other Bobcats to score goals this season, with two each.
• Nina Santore has played 339 minutes in the cage for Quinnipiac and owns a 3.90 goals against average and a 0.639 save percentage.
