PROVIDENCE, R.I.– The Providence College volleyball team (15-15/3-14) was defeated by St. John's (15-16/6-11) in four sets, 3-1, in a BIG EAST regular-season match on Friday, Nov. 19 in Providence, R.I.
1st SET:
• In a back and forth first set, the Friars were defeated, 27-25.
•
Jennifer Leitman and
Niah Tucker each had five kills to pace the Friars.
• Leitman also added two service aces.
•
Allison Barber had 15 assists for Providence.
•
Mackenzie Taylor recorded four digs to lead the Friars.
2nd SET:
• The Friars captured the second set, 29-27, with the Friars twice holding seven-point leads.
•The set was tied 11 times, with five different lead changes.
•As a team, Providence held St. John's to a .078 hitting percentage.
•Letiman had six kills for Providence.
•Barber recorded 13 assists.
•Taylor registered 10 digs.
3rd SET:
• St. John's won the third set 25-19.
• Leitman and
Shaliyah Rhoden each tallied three kills for the Friars.
• Barber recorded eight assists.
• Taylor had three digs for the Friars.
4th SET:
• St. John' won the fourth set, 25-22.
•
Brielle Mullally and Rhoden each had five kills for the Friars.
• Barber registered 11 assists.
• Taylor was credited with seven digs.
NOTES / HIGHLIGHTS:
• Taylor had 24 digs to lead the Friars.
• Leitman registered 16 kills and six digs
• Taylor finished the night with a team-high 14 digs while also contributing three assists.

• Providence will wrap up its season with its final game versus Seton Hall on Sunday, Nov. 21 at 1:00 p.m. It will be the final home game for the Friar seniors.
