Volleyball Travels To DePaul and Marquette

PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Providence College volleyball team heads to DePaul and Marquette this weekend for a pair of BIG EAST matches. The Friars take on the Blue Demons on Friday, Oct, 29 at 8:00 p.m. ET and the Golden Eagles on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 7:00 p.m. ET.
 
SCOUTING THE FRIARS: Last weekend Providence completed a sweep against BIG EAST foes Villanova and Georgetown, both in straight sets. The Friars hold a 15-8 overall record on the season with a 3-7 mark in the BIG EAST Conference.
 
Shaliyah Rhoden (Rowlett, Texas) was a crucial member of the Friars' attack over the weekend as the Friars defeated Villanova and Georgetown at home. In the match against Georgetown, Rhoden recorded a match-high 13 kills and a hitting percentage of .385. This weekend Rhoden's 3.83 kills per set and .380 hitting percentage both ranked fourth in the conference. The freshman has totaled 286 kills and averages 3.40 kills per set on the season. 
 
Mackenzie Taylor (Holbrook, N.Y.) has recorded strong defensive efforts, leading Providence in digs in both Friday (16) and Sunday's (13) matches. The senior tallied four assists in Friday's match versus Villanova.

Allison Barber (Woodbury, Minn.) continues to be a steady contributor for Providence. Barber ranks fourth in the BIG EAST in assists per set (9.33). Barber ranks first on the Friars with assists (809) and second in digs (244).
 
SCOUTING THE BLUE DEMONS: DePaul enters this weekend with a 5-5 BIG EAST record, 12-10 overall. The Blue Demons went 0-2 last week after falling to Marquette in five sets and UConn in three. DePaul defeated Providence in straight sets in the first meeting of the season on Oct. 10.
 
Jill Pressly leads the Blue Demons in kills (281) and tallies 3.56 kills per set with a .231 hitting percentage.
 
Ashley Cudiamat has been the primary setter for DePaul and ranks 11th in the BIG EAST in assists per set (6.03). Cudiamat has 468 assists on the season and has the third most digs on the team (156).
 
Rachel Krasowski ranks 10th in the BIG EAST in digs per set (3.85). She has a team-high 384 digs.
 
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES: The No. 9 Marquette Golden Eagles enter this weekend atop of the BIG EAST standings. They hold a 9-1 conference record, 18-3 overall. The Golden Eagles defeated the Friars in straight sets in their last match on Oct. 8.
 
Taylor Wolf leads Marquette in kills (217) and ranks 11th in the BIG EAST in kills per set (3.08). Wolf is closely followed by Hope Werch who ranks ninth in the BIG EAST with 3.15 kills per set and 200 total kills.
 
Setter Claire Mosher ranks 12th in the BIG EAST in assists per set (5.92) and has tallied 416 assists on the season. Wolf also serves as setter for the Golden Eagles, and has tallied 397 assists while averaging 5.59 assists per set.
 
Carly Shrabak heads the Golden Eagle's defense, with 241 recorded digs over the season. Shrabak ranks seventh in the BIG EAST in digs per set (4.46)
