The Friars had three different goal scorers in today’s match.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College women's soccer team beat Marquette, 3-1, on Sunday, Oct. 10 in Providence, R.I. Sophomore Meg Hughes (Rochester, Mass.) gave the Friars an early, 1-0, advantage in the 12th minute. Fifth-year Hannah McNulty (Warwick, R.I.) scored in the 53rd minute and junior Ava Brandt (Chester, N.J.) closed out the scoring for the Friars in the 77th minute of play. It marked Brandt's first career goal in a Friar uniform.

-In the 12th minute, the Friars took a 1-0 advantage with a goal from Hughes assisted by fifth-year Amber Birchwell (Mastic, N.Y.)
-The Friars defense only allowed the Golden Eagles to get off one shot in the first half.
-Providence possessed the ball in their offensive end for 57% of the first half.
-In the 53rd minute, McNulty scored off a pass from Birchwell to give the Friars a 2-0 lead; giving Birchwell her second assist of the day.
-Brandt scored the last goal for Providence in the 77th minute, assisted by sophomore Kyla Gallagher (Farmington, Conn.) to give the Friars a 3-0 advantage.
-With three minutes left in the second half, Marquette's Maggie Starker scored the lone goal for the Golden Eagles.
-Providence outshot Marquette 17-7.
-Sophomore Emma Bodmer (Monroe Township, N.J.) made four saves, including three in the second half.
-The Friars will return to action on Thursday, Oct. 14 at Butler University at 1 p.m.
