Dynamic Duo
- Providence's Jack Dugan and Tyce Thompson are ranked first and third, respectively, in total point production in the NCAA so far this season. Dugan leads the nation with 49 points and 40 assists. Thompson's 18 goals rank tied for fourth and his 41 total points are third nationally.
- Dugan has registered 16 multi-point outings and 25 games with at least one point.
- Thompson has 14 multi-point games and 25 games with at least one point.
- Both players were nominated for the 2020 Hobey Baker Award.

Two 40-Point Scorers
- Dugan and Thompson are the first pair of Friars to record 40-plus points in a season since 2002-03 (Jon DiSalvatore, Devin Rask, Peter Fregoe).
- Dugan was the first member of the program to record 40 assists in a season since Mike Boback in 1991-92.
 
Underclassmen Success
The Providence sophomore class ranks first nationally among second-year classes in scoring with 129 points on 38 goals and 91 assists - 15 points ahead of second-place Michigan Tech. The Friars' freshmen class is tied for fifth nationally among other rookie classes in scoring with 80 points on 33 goals and 47 assists. Freshmen have accounted for nine of the Friars' 15 game-winning goals this season.
 
Road Warriors
The Friars have found success away from Schneider Arena this season, posting a 7-3-3 record in road games. Providence is 18-8-5 on the road over the past two seasons.

Logjam in the Standings
Providence currently sits tied for sixth in the Hockey East standings with 21 points. Only four points separate first and eighth places.
 
Ford Makes U.S. National Junior Team Roster
Freshman Parker Ford earned a spot on the final 23-player roster for Team USA at the 2020 World Junior Championship that began on Thursday (Dec. 26) in the Czech Republic. Team USA fell to Finland, 1-0, on Jan. 2 in the Quarterfinals. Ford met the Friars in Las Vegas on Jan. 4 after traveling over 8,200 miles across 10 different time zones, where he tallied a goal in the 2-2 tie against Cornell.
 
Spreading Out the Points
Twenty-one different Friars have at least one point so far this season. Seven of those players have 15+ points and four of them have 25+.
 
Striking First
Providence has scored the game's first goal in 23 out of 30 games so far this season. The Friars are 13-5-5 when scoring first this season.
 
Outscoring Opponents
- Providence has outscored its opponents 97-70 so far this season. 
- Providence ranks 13th nationally in scoring offense, averaging 3.23 goals per game.
 
Strong on the Power Play
- The Friars are 32-for-121 on the power play so far this season and are ranked sixth nationally with a 26.4% conversion rate. Providence has scored at least one power-play goal in 22 out of the season's 30 games. In nine of those games, the Friars have netted multiple goals on advantages.

Historic Pace
Dugan currently sits at 49 points. He is on pace for 55.4 points in 34 regular season games. The last Friar to reach 50 points was Devin Rask in 2000-01, while Mike Boback was the last to reach 60 points with his 72-point season in 1991-92. The program single-season record for points was Ron Wilson's 87 points in 1974-75.

SERIES HISTORY VS. MERRIMACK
- Providence looks to extend it's six-game unbeaten streak (5-0-1) against the Warriors on Friday night at Schneider Arena. Overall, Providence has won four straight in the series including a three-game sweep of the season series in 2018-19.
- The Friars are 54-15-4 all-time at home in the series and 37-17-7 on the road.
- Merrimack's last win at Schneider Arena came on Dec. 1, 2012 and are winless in the last 10 meetings in Providence (0-8-2).

SCOUTING THE WARRIORS
- Merrimack enters the weekend dropping three straight, including a pair against Boston College last weekend.
- Senior Tyler Irvine paces the Warriors with 12 goals and 14 assists, while sophomore Chase Gresock has posted 10 goals and 11 assists. Nine players have reached at least 10 points this season for Merrimack.
- In goal, freshmen Jere Huhtamaa (19 starts) and Troy Kobryn (12 starts) have shared duties in net. Huhtamaa has started the last five games and has posted a 3.47 GAA and .846 save percentage overall this season. Kobryn has a 3.45 GAA and .881 save percentage this year.
