PROVIDENCE, R.I.– The Providence College field hockey team earned a sweep of its intra-state rivals as it earned a 3-0 shutout against Brown to close the weekend. On Friday night, the Friars defeated Bryant, 2-0. Providence improved to 3-1 on the season, while the Bears evened their record at 1-1.

Mary O'Reilly (Longmeadow, Mass.) put the Friars on the board, 1-0, at the 20:02 mark. She scored unassisted after knocking home a rebound off the goalkeeper during a penalty corner.

Kara Sanford (Hazleton, Pa.) notched the first multi-goal game of her career with two goals within a span of two minutes and eight seconds in the third quarter.
