PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College men's basketball team will begin a summer tour of Italy on August 14. The team will play four games in Italy on August 16 in Milan, August 18 in Fossombrone, August 22 in Rome and August 23 in Rome. It will mark fourth time the Friars have visited Italy since 2000. The squad also went to Italy in 2002, 2007 and 2014.
"Our team is looking forward to this experience," Head Coach Ed Cooley said. "We have been able to practice and prepare over the last few months and now we will be able to play some games. It also will provide our student-athletes with a tremendous opportunity to learn about Italy and its culture. We are appreciate this chance to grow and see many historical sites."
The Friars, who finished with a 21-14 mark last season and advanced to their fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament, will use the Italy Tour to prepare for the 2018-19 season.
