Series History vs. Marquette
First Meeting: Providence – 1, Marquette – 0 (2006)
Last Meeting: Providence – 2, Marquette – 2 (2017)
All-Time Series: 6-4-2

Scouting the Golden Eagles
Marquette comes to Friartown with a 3-6-1 overall record and a 1-1-1 mark in league play. The Golden Eagles opened BIG EAST play with a big 3-0 win over then-No. 13 Villanova (Sept. 15). That was the team's last win before a four-game winless streak. Most recently (Sept. 29), Marquette played to a 0-0 double overtime draw with Georgetown, who is receiving votes in the poll. The Golden Eagles' offense has been held scoreless for three straight games.

Junior Connor Alba leads the team in points with seven. He has three goals and one assist. Patrick Seagrist and Lukas Sunesson each have three goals and six total points apiece. Luis Barraza has seen the majority of time in net, making seven starts. He holds a 3-3-1 record, a 0.82 goals against average and a 0.842 save percentage.

Scouting the Friars
Providence is 5-4-1 overall 2-1-0 in BIG EAST play. Tuesday night's game against UConn was cancelled in the 60th minute due to weather. Providence led 1-0 off of a goal by Andualem Chisholm (Attleboro, Mass.) when the game was called. Unfortunately, because the game did not reach the 70 minute mark, the result does not count per NCAA rules. Prior to that game, the Friars grabbed a conference win over #22 Xavier. Redshirt junior Joao Serrano (Evora, Portugal) and junior Danny Griffin (Wethersfield, Conn.) each scored their first goals of the season in the 2-0 win. Gil Santos (Parede, Portugal) picked up his first-career assist on Griffin's 89th minute goal. Colin Miller (Bel Air, Md.) made two saves in his third shutout of the season.

Tiago Mendonca (Faro, Portugal) leads the Friars in goals (four) and points (eight). Chisholm and Santos have five points apiece. They've each scored two goals and notched one assist. In total, thirteen different Providence players have recorded a point so far this season. Miller has started all ten games in net. He holds a 1.35 goals against average and a .682 save percentage.

Friars Versus Ranked Opponents
Providence has picked up victories over two top-25 opponents so far this season. The Friars defeated then-No. 8 SMU in double overtime, 2-1 (Aug. 24). More recently, Providence took down then-No. 22 Xavier by a score of 2-0 (Sept. 29).

Stacking Up Against the BIG EAST
Providence is currently third in the BIG EAST in corner kicks. The Friars have 60 corners through ten games, averaging 6.00 per game. Providence is also fourth in shots in the BIG EAST, with 13.60 per game.

In terms of individuals, Tiago Mendonca ranks tied for eighth in the league in goals with four.

One-Goal Games
Through ten games, six of the Friars' contests have been decided by just one goal. Four of those six have been wins, including the recent 3-2 victory at Butler (Sept. 22).

Fresh Friar Faces
The Friars' roster features ten newcomers for the 2018 season. Six of the ten have seen action for the Friars. Ramzi Qawasmy (Landsdale, Pa.) has started all ten games at center back, totaling 937 minutes on the season. Kevin Vang (Cranston, R.I.) has also seen significant minutes, making five starts so far this season. He recorded his first career point on an assist against Boston College (Aug. 31).

Chisholm has made three starts and seven total appearances. He notched his first assist (Sept. 7) and first goal (Sept. 9) in one weekend of action. Raimondo Partito (Philadelphia, Pa.), Christopher Roman (Glastonbury, Conn.) and Gil Santos have each come off the bench for the Friars. Santos notched his first points with two goals at Butler (Sept. 22) and added his first assist against Xavier (Sept. 29).
