PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College men's soccer team defeated the Marquette Golden Eagles by a score of 1-0 on Saturday, Oct. 6 on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium.
Gil Santos (Parede, Portugal) scored the game-winner with 16 seconds remaining in the game.

GAME FLOW & NOTES
- Providence outshot Marquette in the first half, 10-2. Luis Barraza made six first-half saves, including his most impressive on a bid by
Klisman Sousa (Sal, Cape Verde) late in the half. Sousa lined up for a half volley that forced a diving stop.

Colin Miller (Bel Air, Md.) made a couple of key saves in the second half. One came off a free kick with 38 minutes remaining in the half, while the other came off a long range shot with 24 minutes to play.

Gil Santos scored the game-winner for the Friars in the 90
th minute.
Joao Serrano (Evora, Portugal) lined up for a free kick on the right side of the box. He served it in for Santos, who headed to the far post and past Luis Barraza.
- Santos' goal was his third of the season and second game-winner this year. Serrano's assist was his second of the season.
- Final shots were 17-10 in favor of the Friars. Miller finished the day with four saves, while Barraza tied his career-high (10) for Marquette.
- Miller's shutout was his fourth of the season.
